Controller

Summary: To assist management with financial analysis & reporting, direct & indirect taxation compliance, internal controls, risk assessments & management, ISO, and ERP

Key Objectives & Goals of the Position

The person is conscious keeper of all the transactions of the organization; the position guides financial decision within the broad framework of enterprise risk management and risk & rewards.  The person is responsible for establishing, monitoring & enforcing organization policies and procedures and internal controls.  The position elevates overall commercial acumen and process deliverables.  Be a mind partner with management team in various projects, building strategies.  The position visualizes future automations; processes and aids in preparing the organization for future.  The position will ensure adherence to the law of land and drive legal, regulatory & statutory compliances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Financial Compliance, Analysis & Reporting

Ensuring standard accounting (GAAP) for all the divisions of the company

Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.

Completion of yearly statutory & internal audits in a timely manner as per schedule;

Calculate & report Financial & Operational matrices

Bring in efficiencies and effectiveness in the accounting & finance process

Direct & Indirect Taxation

Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.

Payroll taxes, Federal and state notices and compliance, annual filings

Tax planning – R & D credit, manufacturing credit; and evaluate and implement various other tax saving options for the business

Maintain, evaluate and document commercial insurance policies to provide adequate coverage levels that meet changing business needs

Risk assessment & Insurance coverage -Product liability, worker’s compensation, professional liability, umbrella policy, all other risks

Ensure controls on claim process and full settlement of claims

Corporate Governance

Be responsible for all Corporate Governance requirements of the company

Be conscious keeper in various statutory and legal and regulatory compliances for the company

Assess & document Enterprise Risk and assist teams in mitigating enterprise risk through a ERM framework

Working Capital Management

Ensuring timely receivable collections & Accounts Payable payments

Monitor liquidity & comply with bank funding requirements

Monitor and ensure covenants are complied

Internal Controls

Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

Be conscious keeper of all organization costs and bring in Cost efficiencies and monitoring savings and Cost of poor quality

Budgeting & Mid Term Process

Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.

Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

Aid in building & strategizing a robust Mid-term & long term plan

Manage, report the corporate & division budget for the company

Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management

Capex

Control of Capital Expenditure process (Budget, Actual, Liquidity)

Provide financial analysis on Capital investment

ERP & other software application optimization & effective utilization

Visualize automation infrastructure and drive implementation with an objective of brining efficiencies across organization

Effectively utilize, upgrade the ERP for automating business processes on timely basis

Bring effectiveness by integrating various IT tools to generate performance matrices

Talent management

In-charge of recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees of the process

Elevate competencies of team members with appropriate training; monitor performance, and plan resources in line with future growth of the company

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting from an accredited college or university and CPA with a minimum of 10 years of related experience. A business degree is not a must but will be an added advantage.

Knowledge of Indian accounting standard will be added advantage.
